Help
Quick start
Spanner follows one path: Quote → Job → Invoice. The buttons in the app use those words. This page is the whole guide.
1. Raise a quote
Open Quotes (or tap Quote on Today) → New.
Add the customer, the job title, and your lines. Tap Save, then Send quote and share the PDF on WhatsApp or email.
When they say yes, open the quote and tap Accepted. Then tap Convert to Job.
On the Quotes list you can also swipe a quote and tap Convert to Job — that marks it accepted and builds the job in one move.
2. Do the job
The new job opens with the quote details already filled in. Put it on the day you need, add notes or photos if you want, and tap Save Job.
When you’re finished on site: open the job → Mark Done. Spanner asks Bill the customer? — tap Bill them.
3. Send the invoice
That raises an invoice from the job. If you already accepted a quote, the lines come across for you.
Check the figures, tap Send invoice, and share the PDF the same way you sent the quote.
Need a deposit up front, or a final bill after deposits? On the job, tap + under Invoices and choose Deposit or Balance.
4. Mark it paid
When the money lands, open the invoice and tap Mark as Paid.
Today keeps an eye on unpaid invoices so you can chase what’s overdue.
Starting from a job instead
Already booked in? Create the Job first, then add a quote from the job. When they accept, you’re already on the job — raise the invoice from there when you’re done.
You can also raise a standalone invoice from Today or Invoices if you just need a bill with no quote. The quote → job → invoice path is the one that keeps the paperwork tidy.
